OUR FUNCTION

To provide awareness of local and state natural resource concerns. To make educational, technical, and financial assistance available to our district producers and local land owners so they can practice conservation of soil, water, and related natural resources.

OUR MISSION

The Deer Trail and East Adams Conservation District serve as a local intermediary between the landowners of the District and other agencies and groups in the conservation of natural resources while maximizing the economically productive capabilities of the land and the people.

THE SHORT STORY

Conservation Districts were originally established to combat extreme erosion conditions resulting from the era known as “The Dirty Thirties”. Volunteer boards were created to initiate, champion, and manage land stewardship and conservation programs. The goal of each District is to provide conservation education and the resources to further soil and water conservation.
